healthy hair depends on
two key factors.
organic treatment improves both.
Factor 1: pH
Your hair health is a function of proper pH, a measure of acidity and alkalinity.
The pH scale goes from 0, the most acidic, to 14, the most alkaline. 7 is the neutral point and it represents pure water.
The ideal pH level for hair, skin and nails is somewhat acidic, between 4.5 and 5.5 on the pH scale with the level of 5 being called the isometric point - the ideal. At a pH below 4.5, your hair's cuticle contracts while at a pH above 5.5, it opens up. This is why an alkaline solution is used when colouring hair or changing its shape - to allow the ingredients to penetrate.
Your hair's cuticle will sustain permanent damage at pH levels above 10. Yet, most chemical-based colour bleaches have a pH level of 11 to 12, which explains why your hair often looks dry and feels brittle after a colour or perm treatment.
In the final step of the treatment, we shampoo and condition your hair to bring it back up to its isometric point, resulting in a healthy, strong hair that looks and feels great. With continued use of our shampoos and conditioners, your colour and styling will last a stunningly long time.
An added benefit of our natural, organic hair treatment systems is that your body does not absorb harmful chemicals through your hair and scalp.
Factor 2: protein and moisture
Protein and moisture reside inside your hair in a glue-like material called fatty acid. This acid is protected from the outside by seven to eleven transparent layers of interlocking scales called the cuticle.
A healthy hair is made-up of 83% to 87% of protein and 3% of moisture. The balance is composed of sugars, salts and other trace elements.
In our organic products, natural moisturizers and protein protectors keep the balance in protein and moisture intact during the treatment so that our active ingredients penetrate quickly and effectively, thereby reducing contact time.
